Lip Blushing

Depending on the size of your lip and the desired look that's been chosen. New treatments range from 2-3 hours from start to finish. 

Yes, however you must allow 4 weeks in between lip injections and Permanent Makeup due to healing. If the filler has migrated it is recommended to get the filler dissolved before having Permanent Makeup.

PMU can slightly flirt with the boarders of your lips to tweak symmetry but we cannot work over the vermilion boarder or skin tissue as you will have problems once the fading process has completed.

A topical numbing cream is applied to your lips before and throughout the treatment.  The treatment is a mild form of a tattoo so some sensation is to be expected. 

You should take an antiviral medication before your lip blushing appointment. This is very important!  Lip blushing can trigger a cold sore outbreak because it’s a form of trauma to the lip area. Even if someone hasn’t had one in years, the virus can reactivate during healing. Also, avoid the appointment if you currently have an active cold sore; you’ll need to wait until the area is fully healed. 

You want to avoid sun exposure, facials, chlorine, sauna/steam, heavy makeup after your lip tattoo for at least 10 days. Any injections/filler into the lip or laser around needs to be avoided for 4 weeks.  

The lips will look as if lipstick/gloss has been applied - dependent which colour was chosen will determine the brightness. Slight swelling of the lips may appear as the skin has been abraded but this will all settle over the next few days.

Aftercare will be provided on completion of the treatment to take with you and verbally explained.

Here’s the process in simple terms:

1. Consultation & Design – We pick a colour that suits your skin tone and desire and decide on the shape and style (natural or more defined).
    
2. Numbing – A numbing cream is applied so you feel minimal discomfort.
    
3. Mapping & Outlining – Kaylie draws your lip shape as a guide.
    
4. Tattooing the Colour – Using a small tattoo machine, Kaylie will gently layers pigment into the lips. This is done gradually so it looks soft and blended, not harsh.
    
5. Healing – Your lips will be a little swollen and brighter at first, then they’ll scab/flake lightly as they heal. The final healed colour is softer and more natural.
    
6. Touch-Up – Usually 6–8 weeks later, you have a follow-up appointment to perfect the colour and shape.
    

It lasts about 2-3 years, fading gradually, and is perfect for people who want their lips to always have a bit of colour without daily lipstick.
